What is InfoSec Connect?

InfoSec Connect was started by InfoSec pros who recognize that our community is in dire need of one career hub that truly understands our needs.  As we set out to create InfoSec Connect, we considered the unique traits of the information security community. Many of us don’t trust the large job boards because so many unrelated people have full resume access to their databases. It feels a little like swimming in the public pool. The other option has been to post your positions and resume on the job boards for related professional organizations. However, the cost is high for posting jobs (often 2x the cost of InfoSec Connect) and/or you’re required to be a member of that specific organization and pay dues in addition to your posting. We decided it had to be easier and less costly to connect with targeted companies and professionals – all on a trusted platform.  So we created InfoSec Connect.  We are different. In a good way.

How does InfoSec Connect work?

InfoSec Connect allows hiring organizations of all types to post their information security related positions at a low cost.  We combine traditional posting with high-energy branding and integrate social media and network sharing to increase the chances of finding your next great hire or amazing career opportunity.  InfoSec Connect also offers advice on hiring in this challenging industry with specialized topics connecting you with best practice ideas from peers and industry experts.  Our aim is to provide a one stop shop for all information security hiring needs as well as educational information designed to make everyone’s job easier.

What actions require sign-up?

Any kind of active participation including applying for a job or creating a job.  You can browse and search for jobs without creating a profile or sharing your resume.  Once you hit the apply button you will either be taken directly to the url for the corporate website or you will be directed to the email address of the associated hiring leader for that position.  If you already have an account created with us, your profile is already complete.  If you have not yet created an account, you will be asked for information including your name (or the screen name of your choice) and an email.  Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to connect with the companies you’re interested in, without compromising your confidentiality.  We do recommend creating a profile on InfoSec Connect so that employers can find you. How do I get started with InfoSec Connect?

It’s easy. If you’re an employer looking to post your first position you can get started here:  https://core.infosecconnect.com/cart/products.php.  If you’re a job seeker, you can join with your email address or sign in with your LinkedIn account. If you use LinkedIn, know that we will never reach out to your contacts or compromise your confidentiality.  Job search is often a very private affair with sometimes serious consequences if information gets into the wrong hands.  Your privacy is critical to our success, and we will not put it in jeopardy.

We encourage you to fill out your profile and select job titles, locations, specific companies or employment types (contract, part-time, remote) that work best for you.  The more information you share, the better able we are to help you find the right opportunity.

Does InfoSec Connect disclose, share, rent, or sell user information to vendors, third parties, or anyone else?

No. The members of our community are the most important factor in our success and we deeply respect you—and your privacy. Individual users’ information will never be shared with vendors or anyone else.

Can I remain anonymous?

Absolutely.  After all, we are created by security professionals, for security professionals.  You can browse and search for jobs without creating a profile or sharing your resume.  You will be asked to share minimal information once you click the “Apply” button on a job.  If you already have an account created with us, your profile is already complete.  If you have not yet created an account, you will be asked for information including your name (or the screen name of your choice) and an email.  If your screen name is “Flies with Dragons” and your email is butterflycatcher@nomail.com, we couldn’t care less.  Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to connect with the companies you’re interested in.  We do recommend creating a profile on InfoSec Connect so that employers can find you. Why not just go with another job board?

Some people like swimming in the public pool.  Others of us prefer to only share our “sensitive information” with people we trust.  InfoSec Connect closely monitors our site and makes sure that not only are you only seeing dedicated infosec related positions, but we’re also ensuring that our customers are legitimate companies.  In addition to the fact that InfoSec Connect doesn’t charge membership dues in addition to your posting fees (like the professional associations), we are also 100% dedicated to the information security community.  Everyone on our leadership team is heavily networked in the industry and knows what it takes to get the job done right.  Not to mention, our posting costs are a small fraction of what you’re used to from other boards AND they include out of this world employer branding and social media integration.  Our question to you:  why WOULD you choose another job board?

What happens when I give you my information?

InfoSec Connect is vendor agnostic. We are an ad-free career connection community, and we don’t make money by spamming you with vendor emails or disclosing your contact information to anyone else. Instead, this is your resource to find out what’s happening in the employment market, get tips and ideas on hiring or finding your next consulting gig or career.  You can choose how you interact with us and with the individual opportunities.  Log in with your LinkedIn or create a completely confidential profile – it’s your choice.
